Nitrous oxide (N2O) abatement is something ClimeCo has been vocal on since our founding in 2009. The Climate & Clean Air Coalition’s latest Briefing Note on industrial N2O, co-authored by ClimeCo’s Alison Tyndall, showcases the immediate and permanent opportunity we have with global abatement action.
Building on that momentum, the National Resources Defense Council (NRDC) and the Institute for Governance & Sustainable Development (IGSD) announced the “Industrial Nitrous Oxide Challenge," a call to action for brands, governments, and NGOs to make an impact now and eliminate 10 million metric tons of N2O over the next year.

We’re excited to announce that ClimeCo has won the Sustainability Leadership Award in the 2026 Sustainability Awards by the Business Intelligence Group!
Since pioneering the first nitrous oxide (N2O) abatement project in the US in 2009, ClimeCo has scaled this work globally, targeting a superpollutant 273x more potent than CO2 and enabling over 50 million tonnes of CO2e reductions along the way. Alison Tyndall has also won the Sustainability Champion Award for her work leading our N2O abatement efforts.
